Research experience and interests: Improving diagnostics for detection of multidrug resistance pathogens, evaluation of Biosecurity and biosafety aspects in microbiological laboratories and elaboration of biological risk management measures, developing new compound with antifungal activity.
She has participated as coordinator and principal executor in national and international scientific projects, scientific events. The research results were disseminated on various national and international scientific forums, mentioned with diplomas and medals. She has published over 160 scientific papers, including 7 in international journals with impact factor, one monography, 9 methodological recommendations, 8 guidelines, 3 certificates of innovation, and 8 patents.
She is a Member of the OH AMR Partnership JPIAMR Management Board Advisory Group. She has experience working on developing Evidence Briefs for Policy (EBP) on Antimicrobial Resistance. She is Chair and General Committee representative of Moldavian NAC in the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.
She founded a non-governmental association and currently is president of the Moldavian Biosafety and Biosafety Association. She is a member of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases; the European Biosafety Association; the International Federation of Biosafety Associations.
As a part of the National AMR Focal Point team for CAESAR activities, she has experience on establishing AMR Surveillance and Laboratory Network. Also, she organized national seminars and workshops for microbiologists, clinicians, epidemiologists and veterinarians in order to develop good practice in AMR surveillances on One Health approach; meetings to disseminate knowledge on AMR to all stakeholders; awareness-raising activities during the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week and promoting in human and animal sectors.
She was an Organizing Committee member of EuroSciCon – Vaccines Immunization 2020, United Kingdom and Executive Committee member of Balkan Conference on Medical Mycology and Mycotoxicology (Balkan Fungus) Romania, Timisoara, 2018. She was the secretary of the intersectoral collaboration group for developing the National Program for surveillance and control of antimicrobial resistance (on One Health approach).

C. Croitoru is a member of the Moldavian Biosafety and Biosafety Association; Society of Hygienists of the Republic of Moldova, Society of Hygiene and Public Health of Romania, the Romanian Society of Occupational Medicine.
She was a member of the Organizing Committee of the Scientific-Practical Conference "Occupational Health: Problems and Achievements" (Chisinau, 2014), member of the Organizing Committee and Scientific Committee of the International Conference "Individual, Family, Society - Contemporary Challenges" (Romania, Bucharest 2014, 2015, 2017).

She has participated in various national and international forums with reports and posters.
She has organized a series of conferences, round tables, and workshops to promote healthy lifestyles and raise awareness among young people about pressing issues in the field of Public Health.

Research experience and interests: rapid diagnosis of infectious pathology, the resistance of a microorganism to antibiotics, estimating the pathogenicity factors of microorganisms, developing new compounds with antibacterial activity.
Throughout her scientific activity, Dr. Balan has participated in training programmes both in the Republic of Moldova and abroad (Cluj-Napoca and Timişoara, Romania; Copenhagen, Denmark; Belgrad, Serbia; Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Norfolk, Virginia, the USA; London, UK). She has also presented her research at various national and international scientific forums and was awarded diplomas and medals.
Dr. Balan took part in six scientific projects. The results of her research were published in more than 150 scientific papers, including one monograph, two textbooks, 39 articles published in academic journals; 28 articles published in national and international scientific collections; 10 scientific works used in the teaching process; more than 50 summaries at various scientific forums at home and abroad. She is the author of nine patents and eight innovation certificates.
Greta Balan is a member of the Society of Microbiology of the Republic of Moldova, the Moldavian Association for Biosafety and Biosecurity of the Republic of Moldova, the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, the Interregional Association for Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. She was a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Scientific Conference on Microbial Biotechnology 4th edition (Chișinău, 2018).
