One Health & Risk Management Journal Policy on Artificial Intelligence
Starting from July 1, 2025, the journal One Health & Risk Management submits all manuscripts to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Each author(s) is/are fully responsible for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This guarantee is presented in the Cover Letter.
The policy of the One Health & Risk Management journal regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of manuscripts and the publication of articles aligns with the position statement of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which states that “authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, including parts produced by an AI tool, and are thus accountable for any breach of publication ethics.”
According to the editorial policy of OH&RM, AI technologies cannot be listed as authors of the works in which they were used during the preparation process.
At the same time, to ensure transparency in the use of artificial intelligence, we require all parties involved in the writing, reviewing, and publishing process to explicitly disclose any use of AI.
Authors, in the event of using AI, must describe:
a) the AI technology used (name, version, manufacturer);
b) the purpose of using the AI technology;
c) how the AI was used (in which specific processes – such as creating graphics, tables, statistical processing, text generation, etc.).
Additionally, the author(s) must provide a statement affirming their full responsibility for the entire content of the work.
Reviewers:
a) must not input unpublished manuscripts into AI tools, in order to protect the confidentiality of the peer-review process;
b) must disclose any use of AI technologies during their review process;
c) if AI was used, must provide a statement affirming that the use of AI did not compromise the integrity of the review and that they take full responsibility for the acceptance or rejection decisions made.
Editors:
a) will verify whether AI technologies were used by the authors in manuscript preparation, including through plagiarism detection systems, and will evaluate any findings accordingly;
b) will verify whether reviewers used AI technologies in their manuscript analysis and review writing;
c) will ensure that all final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection are made exclusively by humans;
d) will make the final decisions regarding the publication or rejection of manuscripts and the validation or accountability of reviews.
